RASTERDECK COMMUNITY GUIDELINES
Last Updated: December 16, 2025
Our Philosophy
Rasterdeck is built on a simple principle: creators should be free to create, and viewers should be free to watch. We believe in creative freedom and minimal interference. We're not here to police opinions, curate narratives, or decide what you should think.
That said, freedom isn't absolute. There are lines that, when crossed, result in immediate removal from the platform. These lines exist to protect people, not to sanitize content.
What We Allow
Almost everything.
Rasterdeck welcomes content that other platforms might reject for being too controversial, too niche, too weird, or too independent. We don't penalize creators for their political views, their humor, their artistic choices, or their willingness to tackle difficult subjects.
You can create content that:
• Expresses unpopular or controversial opinions
• Explores mature themes for adult audiences
• Contains strong language
• Depicts violence when it serves the story
• Challenges mainstream narratives
• Is weird, experimental, or unconventional
• Wouldn't survive the algorithm on other platforms
We judge content on quality and legality, not on whether it aligns with any particular ideology.
What We Don't Allow
Some content will get you immediately and permanently banned. No warnings, no appeals, no exceptions:
• Child exploitation — Any sexual or exploitative content involving minors
• Illegal content — Content that is illegal under United States federal law
• Non-consensual intimate imagery — Revenge porn or similar content shared without consent
• Direct incitement to violence — Explicit calls to commit specific violent acts against specific people
• Terrorism and extremist recruitment — Content that actively recruits for designated terrorist organizations
That's the list. It's short on purpose.
Content We May Remove
Some content isn't banworthy but may be removed at our discretion:
• Low quality content — We curate for quality. If your content is poorly produced, spammy, or clearly low-effort, it may be removed. This isn't a judgment on your ideas—it's a quality standard.
• Spam and deceptive content — Misleading titles, fake thumbnails, or content designed purely to game the system
• Copyright violations — Content you don't have rights to distribute (see our DMCA policy in the Terms of Service)
• Inaccessible content violating creator obligations — Content lacking required accessibility features as outlined in Section 4.8 of our Terms of Service
• Sexually explicit content — Pornography and explicit sexual material (this is a content scope decision, not a moral judgment)
• Gratuitous gore — Violence that exists purely for shock value with no narrative purpose
Removal of content in these categories is not automatic. We review context and make judgment calls. If your content is removed, you can appeal to appeals@rasterdeck.com within 30 days.
Viewer Conduct
Rasterdeck has minimal social features by design. Currently, you can:
• Vote on content — Anonymous thumbs up/down on videos. Vote honestly. Your votes help surface quality content and inform creator payouts.
That's it. There are no comments, no direct messages, no public profiles to harass. We designed it this way intentionally.
Reporting Content
If you encounter content you believe violates these guidelines, you can report it:
• Email: reports@rasterdeck.com
• In-app reporting: Coming soon — you'll be able to flag content directly with a reason
All reports are reviewed by a human. We don't use automated systems to remove content. If we determine a report is valid, we'll take appropriate action. If we determine it's not, we won't. We don't disclose the outcome of reports to protect everyone involved.
Abuse of reporting: Submitting false or bad-faith reports to harass creators or manipulate the platform may result in action against your account.Creator Responsibilities
As a creator, you're responsible for:
• Your content — Everything you upload, including ensuring you have the rights to distribute it
• Accessibility — Providing captions and other accessibility features as required by law (see Terms of Service Section 4.8)
• Accurate metadata — Titles, descriptions, and thumbnails that honestly represent your content
• Age-appropriate tagging — Properly marking mature content so it can be appropriately gated
You're not responsible for how people react to your content, how they interpret it, or whether they're offended by it. Create honestly and let the work speak for itself.
Enforcement
Our enforcement approach:
• Immediate ban: Content in the "What We Don't Allow" category results in permanent removal from the platform. No warnings.
• Content removal: Content in the "Content We May Remove" category may be taken down. Repeated issues may lead to account action.
• Account suspension/termination: Reserved for repeated violations or egregious behavior
We reserve the right to take any action we deem appropriate, or no action at all, at our sole discretion. This isn't a democracy—it's our platform. But we have no interest in being heavy-handed. We'd rather spend our time building features than policing content.
A Note on "Offensive" Content
You will encounter content on Rasterdeck that offends you. This is guaranteed. Different people are offended by different things, and we don't calibrate our policies to the most easily offended person in the room.
If something offends you:
• Use the thumbs down button
• Stop watching
• Don't subscribe to that creator
What you shouldn't do:
• Demand we remove it because you don't like it
• Organize campaigns to deplatform creators you disagree with
• Submit false reports
We're not interested in being the arbiter of acceptable opinion. If content is legal and meets our quality standards, it stays.
Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these guidelines as the platform evolves. If we make significant changes, we'll notify users. Your continued use of Rasterdeck after changes constitutes acceptance.
