Our Commitment to Your Privacy

At Rasterdeck, we believe in keeping things simple. We collect only what we need to provide you with our service, and we don't sell your information to anyone. Period.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address — Used for account creation, login, and important account notifications

• Phone number — Optional for viewers who want SMS authentication; required for creators using two-factor authentication for dashboard access

• Username — Your chosen display name on the platform

• Name — Used to personalize your experience

• State — Used for content availability and compliance purposes

• Birth year — Used to verify you meet our age requirements (18+)

Viewing Information

To provide our service, we collect:

• Continue watching data — We store your playback position so you can resume where you left off

• My Shows list — If you choose to add shows to your personal list, we store those selections

• Aggregate watch time — We track viewing minutes in aggregate to calculate creator payouts; this data is not used to build individual user profiles

• Token balance and usage — We track your viewing token balance, monthly grants, and consumption history to manage your viewing allocation

Creator Information

If you become a creator on Rasterdeck, we additionally collect:

• Content you upload — Videos, thumbnails, titles, descriptions, captions, and other content you provide

• Payout information — Mailing address or other information necessary to send you payments when applicable

• Channel information — Channel names, descriptions, and settings you configure

Payment Information

When you subscribe, your payment is processed by Helcim, our payment processor. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or other sensitive payment details. Helcim handles all payment data securely under PCI-DSS compliance standards.

Automatically Collected Information

Our servers automatically log certain information when you use Rasterdeck:

• IP address — Used for security, fraud prevention, and basic service functionality

• Browser/device information — User agent strings help us ensure compatibility

• Request data — Pages visited and actions taken on the platform

Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and debugging purposes.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used exclusively for:

• Creating and managing your Rasterdeck account

• Authenticating your identity when you log in

• Sending verification codes via email or SMS

• Processing subscription payments

• Calculating and distributing creator payouts

• Providing the continue watching and My Shows features

• Ensuring platform security and preventing fraud

• Providing customer support when you contact us

• Complying with legal obligations

We do not use your information for advertising, behavioral profiling, or any purpose other than providing and improving our service to you.

Information We Don't Collect

We don't collect:

• Your browsing history outside of Rasterdeck

• Your precise location (beyond the state you provide)

• Your contacts or address book

• Any data from other apps on your device

• Detailed individual viewing profiles for advertising purposes

Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

The only exceptions are service providers essential to operating Rasterdeck:

• Payment processing — Helcim processes payments securely; we never see or store your full card number

• SMS delivery — Telnyx delivers verification codes; they receive only your phone number and are contractually prohibited from using it for any other purpose

• Email delivery — SendGrid sends account-related emails only; they receive only your email address for delivery purposes

• Infrastructure providers — Our hosting and content delivery providers process data as necessary to provide their services; they do not have independent access to your personal information beyond what is technically necessary for hosting and delivery

These providers only receive the minimum information necessary to perform their specific function and are bound by confidentiality obligations.

We may also disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order.

Data Security

We take security seriously:

• Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and cannot be read by anyone, including us

• Phone numbers are encrypted at rest

• All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS)

• We use secure, reputable cloud infrastructure

• Creator dashboard access requires two-factor authentication

Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active.

If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records (such as payment history for tax purposes) or where data has been aggregated in a way that no longer identifies you (such as aggregate viewing statistics used for creator payouts).

Creator content (videos, thumbnails, etc.) will be removed upon account deletion unless retention is required for legal reasons.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you

• Correct any inaccurate information

• Delete your account and associated data

• Export your data in a portable format

• Opt out of optional features like SMS authentication (for viewers)

• Authentication tokens — Keep you logged in securely (JWT tokens)

• Session cookies — Maintain your session state

• Security tokens — CSRF tokens that protect against cross-site request forgery attacks

• Third-party analytics that track you across websites

Beta Status

Rasterdeck is currently in beta. While we take data security seriously, you acknowledge that the platform is provided "as is" and data loss may occur during the beta period. We recommend not relying on Rasterdeck as your sole backup for any important data.

Children's Privacy

Rasterdeck is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and specifically, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If we learn that we have collected information from a user under 18, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at privacy@rasterdeck.com.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you via email or through a notice on our website before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Rasterdeck after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
